Raising the shed walls and building the shed truss for roof.. Raising a shed in 30 minutes. having previously built the shed walls and roof, it was time to put it together. with the sheet metal on, the walls and roof were too heavy for me to move on my own, so i invited a few friends over for a "shed raising" and barbecue.. This video shows raising the roof of a shed i have been working on for 2 years. the roof was salvaged from a neihbors dilapidated shed. the roof had a few layers of asphalt and weighed at least.

Properly brace and secure both the roof structure and the walls, seperately of course. prepare the "lift" mechanism. cut/disconnect all connections of the roof to the walls' top plates ( nails, screws, metal brackets, etc ) lift the roof structure. install and secure wall extensions. lower roof into place and secure.. Comments on that thread confirmed my intent to raise the roof of the shed for repairs....i'd just like to hear any words of wisdom/precautions when it comes to jacking roofs. i have started to jack the roof of a shed that is basically a 16 x 12 gable pole barn and 16 x 10 lean to attached..
