I am re-habbing a 14x28 foot wood frame shed. i would like to install an insulated ceiling to hide the metal roofing. the shed has a wooden floor, t1-11 uninsulated walls, four windows and a sloping metal roof using master rib metal roofing. i think the rafters are 2x6 set on 24" centers.. Building a shed - metal roofing i decided to use sheet metal roofing for both the roof and walls for this shed. sheet metal roofing is a bit more expensive than using osb with asphalt shingles and vinyl siding, but it goes on a lot quicker, and i could get it in green, which blends in better with the surrounding vegetation..
The advantage of a metal roof, or tin roof, is that it has a 50 year plus lifespan. and it comes in many shapes, sizes, and colors. if you install it properly you can pretty much forget maintenance for the life of the shed. the dis advantage of a metal roof is that it is more expensive than shingles, and requires additional planning and tools.. Although known for their durability, metal shed roofs are not impervious to damage. both natural and human factors can damage the metal structures, especially if no effort is made to maintain them.. Randomactupmedia: i am concerned about the screws in the low surface (wide channel) of the metal roofing. here in the philippines where the cheaper sheet type metal (and the type you are using) they use a roofing nail that has a convex shaped [�].
